This adorable little cat, the Seychellois, is not well known in the USA. A new breed of cat that developed in the United Kingdom during 1980′s is called Seychellois Cat. In temperament the Seychellois Cat breeds have an interesting personality they are energetic, appears somewhat scatter-brained, demonstrative with their affection and somewhat demanding. They are similar in body to the Siamese cat with longish neck, long legs, large ears and blue eyes.
There are three types of color markings in both short and longhair Seychellois Cats:
- (Seychellois Huitieme) white with a colored tail and large color patches on the head and legs.
- (Seychellois Septieme) white with a colored tail and small color patches on the head and legs
- (Seychellois Neuvimie) nearly completely white with a colored tail and only small patches of color on the head.
Because of the fact of its short history as a breed that does not have wide recognition among cat fancier groups, there are also not a lot of breeders easily accessible to those in the USA who might be interested in seeing or owning one of these entertaining cats.
